Net Optics Bypass Switches enable any 10/100/1000 in-line appliance to be inserted or removed within a link without downtime,eliminating potential risks from in-line hardware failure.

The Bypass Switch is “On ” when it is drawing power.In this state,all in-line traffic is routed directly through the appliance connected to the Bypass Switch.The Bypass Switch is “Off ” when power is unavailable.In-line traffic continues to flow through the network link,but is no longer routed through the appliance,allowing the appliance to be removed and replaced without downtime.Once power is again available to the Bypass Switch,the Switch seamlessly returns to the “On ” state, once again enabling in-line monitoring.

Through sharing the same power source (Uninterruptible Power Supply or outlet) as the in-line appliance,Net Optics Bypass Switches support fail-open monitoring with any 10/100/1000 in-line device.In addition,custom solutions are available for major intrusion prevention solutions,enabling fail-open monitoring in the case of link failure,as well as power loss.
